In order to run Oracle Enterprise Manager DB Control or OEM Cloud Control 12c it is necessary to be able to run Adobe Flash within your FireFox browser on your Linux system.  This is not as easy as it might seem at first.  In order to install the Adobe Flash player on OEL 6.4 follow these steps.

  1. Yum install firefox.  This is done via yum install firefox.
  2. Download the Adobe flash player from the Adobe website.  Do not let it try to install automatically.
  3. Install the Adobe flash plugin using Yum.  Yum should be configured on your system.  The Adobe flash player is identified by the following rpm.

#  yum install flash-plugin-

Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit, security

  1. Install additional packages.  There are three additional packages that need to be installed.  This is shown here:

yum install flash-plugin nspluginwrapper.x86_64 nspluginwrapper.i686 \

alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.i686 libcurl.i686

This will allow the Adobe flash plugin to function in an OEL 6.4 environment.  This can make it much easier to manage and monitor Oracle databases.
