Oracle Database 10g: RAC Deployment Workshop
Overview
This course provides users familiar with the Oracle database with experience in configuring and deploying Oracle RAC. Students will gain experience in Oracle clusterware, ASMLib, ASM, OCFS2 and Oracle RAC. The student will become proficient in configuring Oracle RAC on Linux, including the upgrade process.
Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to provide the student with Oracle RAC experience in a boot camp fashion. The student will learn the requirements for a successful RAC implementation and proficient in the installation process itself. Tasks learned in this class will include:
- Configuring Linux for RAC deployment
- Using the cluster verification utility
- Installing and configuring Oracle ASMLib on Linux
- Installing OCFS2 on Linux
- Configuring Oracle Clusterware
- Installing RAC
- Upgrading Oracle RAC

Prerequisites
The student must be familiar with Oracle 10g RAC. The student should have taken the Oracle 10g RAC Administration class.
Lab Work
This course includes intensive hands-on labs where the student can become familiar with Oracle RAC on Linux and will participate in creating the RAC cluster.
