Overview This three day class covers the implementation and administration of Oracle Data Guard. This class is designed for the database administrator, systems administrator, or operations personnel that are responsible for data availability and disaster recovery in an Oracle environment. Students will gain knowledge on the installation, configuration and monitoring of the Oracle Data Guard. In addition, the student will learn both the physical and logical standby modes of Data Guard as well as industry “best practices” to maximize data availability. Course Objectives As the world changes, business managers are realizing more than ever,how important it is to have a reliable disaster recovery program in case of disaster. This is particularity true if the information is real-time or sensitive in nature. This course provides the foundation for installing Oracle Data Guard, and customizing it for a particular environment. After completing this class, a student will have acquired the competency to install and configure Oracle Data Guard in physical standby mode, logical standby mode, or some combination of the two. This class will cover not only the architecture and function of each mode, but also their application, benefits, and restrictions. Course Agenda
