Oracle Database 11g R2: New Features for Administrators
Overview
This 5-day course provides students an opportunity to learn about key enhancements in Oracle Database 11g for Release 1 and Release 2. Students will examine the benefits and use of features in managing change, diagnosing and resolving problems, improving scalability and performance, strengthening security, and several other areas covering database administration. In addition, hands-on lab exercises will be used to reinforce key concepts and capabilities.
Course Objectives
In this class, the student will learn to implement manageability features to simplify database management, utilize database advisors to provide proactive database monitoring, and increase data availability by using improved ASM, RMAN, and Flashback features. Prerequisites
- Experience as an Oracle DBA with Oracle 9i, 10g, or 11g
- Mandatory working knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g database including the ability to use sqlplus
- Basic UNIX/Linux operating system navigation skills, including the ability to use ls, cd, and pwd commands
Lab Work
This course includes hands-on labs where the student can build on their existing knowledge of Oracle by becoming familiar with and trying out the new features of Oracle 11g.
