Remote DBA Support Service
Program Summary
PTC's Remote DBA Support Service (RDS) provides the resource and skills to regularly maintain and optimize the performance of your Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database systems. Its designed for companies that don’t have the resources, skills or time to perform regular database monitoring, performance analysis and system maintenance. This program fills this need, thereb, reducing IT costs and providing ready access to our knowledge base, training and full range of professional services.
This Service includes a system health check & six months of database monitoring (per database server or database instance) and 20 hours of consulting time for issue resolution. We will provide an initial health check of your database system; establish performance metrics, install monitoring tools, and perform monitoring and analysis to ensure your database and applications are running at their peak efficiency. We'll work closely with your team to decide what level of support is right for you. For clients with emergency requirements, an on-call 24x7 Support Option is also available.
Service Options
- Remote DBA Support (base program) - Six month program with easy renewal option
- Remote DBA Support with 24x7 Support Option
The base program includes the following:
- Daily database and system performance monitoring, system maintenance and basic tuning
- System problem resolution and ongoing maintenance - Advice customer of potential database, capacity and other operational issues
- Dedicated English speaking DBA (consultant) and backup familiar with your architecture and issues
- Consulting service period is M-F, 8-7pm CST. Weekends and holidays are excluded
- Service includes 20 hours of consulting time for issue resolution, upgrades or other DBA tasks
- Service Response time - The PTC DBA (consultant) assigned to your account will respond within an agreed upon customer response window
Deliverables
- Establish performance benchmarks and metrics
- Daily database and system monitoring, system maintenance and basic tuning
- Bi-weekly report detailing the health of each system with recommendations for improvement
- Monthly checkpoints to assess service requirements and obtain management feedback
- 20 hours of consulting time for performance tuning, issue resolution and other database related tasks (e.g. software patches, version updates, etc.)
24x7 on-Call Support Option - This option adds 24x7 on-call support to the base Remote DBA Support Service. Below are the deliverables.
- Seven (7) day monitoring and analysis - System health check & monitoring with weekly reports
- Seven day, 24 hour critical response - a PTC consultant assigned to your account will respond within an agreed upon customer response window.
