Remote DBA Service
Overview
An extension of our core consulting services, PTC's Remote DBA Service is designed for IT departments that require Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server database administration and support, but lack the staff or expertise to manage their database system. PTC's Remote DBA Program fills this need, thereby, reducing IT costs and providing ready access to our knowledge base, training and full range of professional services. Below is a summary of this unique service offering.
PTC's Remote DBA Service focuses on the following areas:
- Database and System Performance Monitoring and Tuning
- System Problem Resolution and ongoing Maintenance
PTC will provide an initial health check of your database system; establish performance metrics, install monitoring tools, and perform monitoring and analysis to ensure your database and applications are running at their peak efficiency. System monitoring includes one database or database instance. Additional databases or database instances can be monitored for an additional fee. The result of this monitoring is a weekly report that details the health status of the database system with recommendations for tuning the system. For clients with emergency requirements, an on-call 24x7 Support Option is also avaiable.
